If they want the information, they should ask for it and not use underhand methods to subvert peoples previous decisions. There may well be bigger fish to fry but the apathetic nature of shrugging ones shoulders and thinking it's harmless or you can't do anything about it perpetuates the corporate mentality that it's ok to do these things and has led over the years to the bigger problems that this is only a tiny part of. It was sneaky and devious and actions like this should be spoke out against. There is no indication I have seen that Take Two actually plans on turning Kerbal Space Program into spyware, just rumors and a EULA that reserves more rights than it needs to which is probably just to reduce the amount of communication necessary between the programmers and the lawyers. KSP has for years asked if you want to give them this information or not, no sooner has the software been acquired by another company they removed the polite notice and injected more analysis without telling anyone. The issue isn't really what they wanted to know but how they went about it. I have no issue with Take Two or Squad wanting to know more information about how people play their game. I understand your point and agree but there is something that needs to be said about this in particular. They'd taken every little bit of information they could find, leaving me with nothing but Steam Screenshots to remember my colourful KSP history. When I came to, my PC was thoroughly broken, clearly missing SSD's and HDDs. The last thing I heard were two of the men laugh before I felt a huge blow to my neck and the world blurred out to black. "♥♥♥♥ YOU!" I cried "TELL ME WHO YOU'RE WORKING FOR!" I felt the agony of my arms being pulled behind my back, my face slammed into my own keyboard. Now, that DID shut my PC down but I knew the SSD's were untouched. I mis-aimed and accidentally kicked and broke the heatsink. I glanced back at the 4 guys, took a deep breath and launched myself at my PC. 60 hours a week is enough time to make some marvellous crafts, way beyond the capabilities of our current real world science. What was the liklihood that I could kick it hard enough to break it beyond repair? I now knew exactly what they wanted. You're a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ KSP addict aren't you?" the second guy piped up. "How the hell can you know that?!" I exclaimed. "You play over 60 hours a week of KSP.every week" he replied. "You know why we're here" he said in a gruff smokers voice. That was until the day when my door was kicked down and 4 masked men burst into my house. Just a marketing tool, like Chibbity said.
